An improvement suggestion would be that Agrana tries to work out the management approach clearly.
They should provide a lot more information regarding their management approach and its inclusion in the corporate strategy for a better insight to the company and the managements standing regarding Agranas’ sustainability actions.
Impact: The impact from the company to society and environment isn’t clear to me. My recommendation is to highlight the impact in a better way.
Another improvement for future reports should be the presentation of key figures on the material topics.
Once in the report a “AGRANA sustainability core team” is mentioned, but it in the rest of the report it is not further mentioned nor described. The reader cannot be sure, what this sustainability core team is, who is part of it, what their functions are, how often they meet etc. It is not transparent, how this core team operates, since their tasks are not further explained. Here I see need for improvement.
It is a bit difficult for the reader of the sustainability issues because the topics are shared on different pages and have been given a green thumbprint. The idea is nice, but if you do not want to read the entire report, it is difficult to get all the information.
It would be better to make two separate reports: the annual report and the CSR/sustainability report.
I would recommend to engage also more critical groups like for example NGOs. Also my recommendation would be to work with the stakeholders on a higher engagement level e.g. collaborate or empower, because at the moment all the company does with their stakeholders is informing and consulting them and hardly any involving.
It would be great if they would break down their engagement with the different stakeholders in the different engagement levels as it can be found in other CSR/sustainability reports.
Stakeholder: I would define Stakeholder engagement as a material issue. The topic Stakeholder Engagement is in the materiality analysis, but not marked as a material issue.
Usability: Many URLs are not linked- for example on page 43. You have to copy and paste it. Furthermore there is no linked table content. My suggestion for a better usability is to add a link to the URLs.
It would also be good to make the report the same visually until the end. It starts with a lot of pictures and ends as a classic report.
The use of graphics, interactivity and others would add value to the report.
